Sitting there with crossed paws and that sweet-hopeful anticipatory expression..with dearlittle Fluffy at his side, gnu is absolutely charming!

I was already aware that your friend is a more valuable member of the community here than I am. I don't see anything in the op that suggests sarcasm would be an appropriate response to my sincerity and I checked my post several times before posting to make sure I was requesting help as clearly as I could.
It's clear to me that I don't belong here. I don't fit in and there's no reason for me to think anything I say would be interesting to Valuable Members. That's why I'm a wallflower. I read a lot here and I learn things that would not otherwise be available for me to learn.

Yes, two litters of kittens usually involves two mamacats. One is an outside cat that came with the house. I had reason to suspect that she wasn't capable of carrying kittens. I was wrong. She had one..and he is dead.
The other batch came here to be raised until they're old enough to become barncats for my neighbor. They came from a household that barely tolerates having one cat..but she's a good mouser. That mamacat went to the vet as soon as she could after birthing this litter. I see no shame in tending kittens that would have otherwise been shot. If the situation arises again, I will try to remember to be responsible enough to leave them to the situation they were born to.
I do spay/neuter and of course my first thought was that my gumped kitten needed a vet. Asking for help here was the option I could afford, and the best option I could come up with.

I may not have anything to offer here and I freely accept that as a member, I'm not particularly valuable.
I Do Not accept that there's anything appropriate about meeting a request for help with sarcasm or dullard wit or whatever you may choose to call it. Maybe 2P was aiming toward lightheartedness and I took it to heart more than I should. Maybe it was callous and uncaring.
Maybe it could have waited until the thread was going instead of when it began..

report:
Swelling is gone.
Both eyes are back to normal.

Thank you for the hand holding and the lesson.
If I'm not back to lurking by the time Harvey and Fluffy get together, I hope somebody emails to let me know so I can have pick of the litter..and leave it unspayed so we can have several litters of kickass cats that will take over the world!
It's the least I can do.
