BBS, unless you're living in the Pine Barrens, I can't imagine that you'd have to drive that far to find a folk gig, because New Jersey is such a well-populated state! I'm thinking that you just need to make the right connections. I'm in southeastern Pennsylvania (Philly suburbs), and I may very well be able to help you with networking.
