Yarmouth Town (won't you come down, etc) has a "short" verse stuck in the middle of the song.... I'll have to listen to the recording again, but could the "they" be simply to help the lyrics fit the music? I've come across songs where they lyrics aren't perfect grammatically (drawing a blank on an example)...might be the case here. Great observation at any rate Ian M! Mary
