Many years ago now, one of the industrial food producers had a project going, using what are now called MRI techniques, to see how much water they could get into their margarine before the customers noticed.

Answer was not enough to make it cheaper to produce. Which was the object of the exercise.

Butter tastes like butter. Other stuff - doesn't. However "good" for us it is.
