"No Biscuit Blues" is a song that the McGarrigles used to do when they were in the Mountain City 4, a folk group in Montreal in the 1960s. It was written by Galt McDermott (who would later compose the music to "Hair") and William Dumaresq.
The song is sung from the POV of a kid from a family that had nothing, so the father turned to crime to provide for them. You probably misheard the line that says "that made my daddy have to PULL a job" to which the bass voice (Anna's husband, Dane Laneken) sings "which means he had to rob."
