I've got a beautiful Tim Philips Octave Violin and I get my replacement strings direct from him, yes they tend to be expensive but they have a beautiful tone. If you ever get to meet him he is a wonderful guy and an amazing instument maker. I've played a number of his instruments and hopefully will be getting another one of his creations in the near future.
