The 99% does not refer to a political group or collection of views. It refers to those who aren't part of the 1% that controls the vast majority of the wealth. The occupy movement refers to those members of the 99% who wish to hold corporatioons to account and who wish to return the political system from corporatocracy to democracy - ie - where those with the money do not have exclusive political rights and influence, but the same access to government and the same political power as every other individual. The Tea Party is made up of some members of the 99%, but was orchestrated by the 1%. Its an interesting mix of boundary definitions, but one that does stand up to scrutiny. Just because you are on the side of the slaveowner, doesn't make you less of a slave.
