I disagree. The optimal approach is to tell genuinely interesting stories in your intros which just happen to mention cds in passing (i.e. ideally not just 'this is from our new album' - because people will assume most of your set is available on record anyway).

Market science suggests a consumer needs to hear about a product five times before deciding to think about buying. I have no time for market science whatsoever, of course ;-), but on the other hand...
