Why oh why does 'The Bold Soldier/Dragoon' have to have anything to do with Child 7? Because they share a couple of lines or a simple motif doesn't make them in any way the same song. Many many ballads share commonplaces, broadside ballads like The Bold Soldier, Child Ballads like 7, but this doesn't make them the same song. One of Bronson's few faults was he seemed desperate to put things together with very little to connect them.
