Many years ago I found my dad's war-time scrapbook, (he served in the RAF) amongst the "gems" was a service parody of The Green Eye of the Little Yellow God.
Sadly I no longer possess that scrap of paper and remember only fragments of it.
The hero was "Large Carews", Carews being a beer available to troops serving in India at that time.
The Green Eye of the Little Yellow God.
There's a one eyed yellow idol to the North of Khatmandu,
There's another one a little further down;
There's a golden haired young flapper tends the grave of Large Carews,
And the Yellow Idol forever gazes down.
He was known as "Large Carews" by the subs with whom he boozed,
He was hotter than they felt inclined to tell;
But for all his foolish drunks, he was worshiped in the runks,
And the Colonel's daughter liked a drop as well.
etc...
