I got the builder onto them (they are sub-contracted to him), and things are now starting to happen. The joiners arrived today and said that apparently the plumber was waiting for them to fit the counter tops and sinks, so that he could plumb the taps and wastes in, along with doing some of the other jobs that are pending. This would have been resolved earlier, but the joiner who was working in the kitchen had been dragged temporarily onto another job to do some barrowing of concrete (they had to do the same for this job when my floor went in, because of the awkward access).

Anyway, I daresay I will see the plumber by early next week, if not, perhaps, tomorrow. I don't know why the electrician wasn't answering his phone. We were praying he hadn't hurt his back again, as the last time, he was laid up for 6 months. The one joiner, who came for a few hours yesterday afternoon, said he couldn't understand it, as the guy was the most rerliable electrician he had worked with.

Anyway, the builder said that his mother in law lived next but one to him, and he'd find out what was going on. later that evening I received a message telling me he would be coming on Saturday. It's a good job I hadn't anything planned for the first half of the weekend!

The job has got to the fiddly stage where all the different trades are having to juggle around each other, and their other job commitments. It will all suddenly drop into place.
