Well, Fender and China could go together, since their banjo line isn't really made in their guitar factories, I'm sure. Their earlier ones were probably Samick products, but a lot of that job-lot work has moved to China these days. Unless it's a really high-quality model, $400 is pricey. That's a new price, not a pawn-shop price. However, if it truly is one of their top models, it was probably $700-800 list price, so $400 used isn't so bad. Look up the model number online (Fender's site or Google "Fender banjo model XXX" and see what you find. Bob
