My maslin/preserving pan came from an old car boot fair about 18 years ago. The pouring lip isn't quite as lippy as it once was, since I dropped it! It is heavy gauge aluminium, and has the original (pre 1971) price of 48/6 pencilled on it. That's £2.43 in new money. I paid £2. As I tend to make smaller quantities now, it doesn't get a lot of use (like Penny, a saucepan will do). However, it would be good for punch or mulled wine. The electrician actually did turn up yesterday, and laid the new cable under the hallway floor, and the earth wire to the gas pipe. He says he'll be back on Monday. Hope the plumber comes, then between them they can get the cooker going. I would like to know when the decorator might get here, as that may affect when the appliances go back in. I also need to get a new bed for the new bedroom. A trashy day, foodwise. People kept forcing chocolates into me! The pork, stuffing and apple sauce roll I had at the village Christmas lights party didn't help (but it was nice!) Andrea
