I remember going to a concert in the Gate Theatre, Dublin late '63 or early '64. The line up included The Dubliners & Luke Kelly, Deirdre O'Connell (Luke's wife), Dominic Behan and Alex. Alex brought the house down & upstaged the rest of them I heard after that Alex had difficulty getting into the Gate, in those days one did not go to the theatre dressed in denim jacket & jeans.
