Well, I start my day in the sun-up dark
I’m goin’ down the lane and bring my milk cows up
Got a Holstein, Jerseey, a one-eyed steer
And an old brown cow jumps fences like a deer

Dew on the ground got my feet all wet

Goin’ through the pasture to get in my herd
Chewin’ their cud, lookin’ at the birds
