In the Zupfgeigenhansl(Thomas Friz & Erich Schmeckenbecher) songbook:"Kein schöner Land in dieser Zeit" (Pläne Verlag 1984) it says text: Itzchak Katsenelson, music: Sch. Secunda. Katsenelson was born 1886 and lived in the Warsaw Ghetto until he was murdered in Auschwitz in 1944. Thomas Friz has done a lot of research into the music of the east european jews so I think he will have had good reasons for crediting Itzchak Katsenelson with the text.
