I have to watch my pennies too but there's no way I'd make that Velveeta recipe. Is it that much cheaper? I understand that processed food seems less expensive, but in part it's because I think many people have forgotten how to cook. Back in the day people made big pots of stew, soup, etc that could be stretched to feed a hungry family and was still nutritious. I don't think families tend to eat like that much anymore. There are lots of ways to eat healthy and not break the bank. I'm with you, Alice. Cheap food isn't cheap in the long run.
