The article was written by a some sort of internet rock journalist, and it is quite likely that this person didn't make any effort to figure our what the story was about--it could be one of those books like "Dr. Faustus"(I think) by Thomas Mann, which was a fictional novel about a composer who had invented the 12-tone system, and was obviously(and not charitably) based on the real inventor of 12-tone series,Arnold Schoenberg.
I found this bio, connected to a Bax website--his second symphony was broadcast on BBC not long after his death, and there was some controversy of some having to do with its being taped--Arnold Bax Biography--it could be just one of those odd coincidences that turns up--or we could be opening up a whole deal--
