It is a (relatively) free country of course, but I still can't understand why respected folk singer Roy Harris would choose "Burl" as a nickname/pen-name when repected folksinger Dave Burland is often referred to as "The Burl" - at least in the ever decreasing concentric circles in which I travel.

Burl Ives visited England in 1979 and his concert at Oxford (or part of it) was broadcast by The BBC at the time. I might even have a battered and dusty cassette somewhere.
