Hmmm... here in the UK a biscuit is completely different from its US counterpart... In the UK we also differentiate between 'biscuits' and 'cookies' - a biscuit is dry (from the French meaning 'baked twice'), but a cookie is moist. I suppose you could consider Dylan Owen's hilarious 'Battle of the Biscuits' which mentions a few well-known types, and Les Barker's 'Custard Creams', an infamous parody of Bill Caddick's 'John o'Dreams'... though perhaps the latter is funnier when you know the original.
