Effsee Info: Mary Brooksbank (1897-1978) (25) RE: Mary Brooksbank - NO Wikipedia entry??? 24 Jun 12

My mother was a friend of her's, she told me that during the 2 minute silence of the Remembrance Day, the only sound to be heard in the Jute Mill was the clacking of Mary's knitting needles, in her disapproval of such a thing.

My Auntie Annie, who was a nun, also gets a mention in one of her books.

She died of malnutrition at the hands of the Japanese in Burma whilst nursing a colony of lepers which the British Army refused to evacuate.
