In researching another thread, I looked up Irish songwriter Leo Maguire, and he wrote a song called "The Farmer's Boy". If you rae in Dublin, you can find a copy in The National Library Archives. If not, I hope to get in there soon and copy the lyrics. Sounds like it could be what you are looking for.
