I long for the day when a country, contending to hold the games, proposes to limit the competition to only those events that are held in the stadium, the walk and the marathon. Surely there are enough international, top ranking events of the other sports and games(e.g. The World Cup for rugby and football and cricket, tennis Grand Slams, Open golf championships, world swimming chapionships, Tour de France, etc.) held during the years to satisfy us?
