Thanks for those words, Howard. You put it in a nutshell. As I said before (though some people above don't appear to have taken it on board) we DO give all performers a chance at one of our 'club' nights. There are various stages of development...performing for the first time in public might be best done seated within a throng of others with the words on a sheet at a singaround or in a public pub session. It probably shouldn't take place on a stage in a quiet darkened room in the full glare of a spotlight into a microphone and through a professional PA system in front of an expectant paying audience. Clearly some would disagree though....
