GUEST,JeremyRS Chris Wood + Louise Jordan Leics 13 Sep (5) Chris Wood + Louise Jordan Leics 13 Sep 03 Sep 12

Chris Wood and Louise Jordan will be appearing at The Musician on Thursday 13 August.

Chris Wood needs little introduction to any folk fan, or indeed any fan of great songs. Album of the Year, Folk Singer of the Year (twice), Best Original Song, Song of the Year, he has won everything going at the BBC Folk Awards. Add to that four and five star reviews from pretty much every publication out there and what you have is a man at the top of his game and the top of the folk field. An uncompromising writer whose music reveals his love for the unofficial history of the English speaking people, he weaves the tradition with his own contemporary parables.

Here he is doing The Cottagers Reply at Celtic Connections earlier this year:

Louise Jordan is a rising star from Devon who will release her second album shortly. Possessed of a "stirring, lilting grace" (Daily Telegraph) and "considerable songwriting skills that stand out from the crowd" (Phil Beer) she has a marvellous voice which she uses to great effect on a mix of traditional and original material.

See her version of Silver Dagger here

Tickets are £11 from The Musician or wegottickets

Doors will be at 8.00 as usual with music starting at 8.30pm
