The trouble is that they are EXTREMELY loyal.
I served in Ulster in 1972 and would not trust an Orangeman as far as I could throw him, but when that same Orangeman was in UDR uniform I would (and often did) trust him with my life.
Several hundred years of mutual mistrust and hatred between the catholic & protestant communities is not going to disappear overnight, and as long as folks like leeneia keep stirring things up it will last a lot longer.
