Back in 1958, when I was 15 (you do the math...), worked a summer job driving a dishwasher in the cafeteria at Trentham Gardens, Stoke-on-Trent, UK. With the proceeds, I paid 15 UK pounds for a Hofner Verithin President guitar at the local Exchange and Mart shop. A beautiful blonde guitar with a cutaway, it got me into music lessons, later into a trad jazz band then (having fitted it with a pick-up) a rock group. Long gone now, of course, but I'd love to find another one. But I wouldn't get it for 15 nicker, I know that!
