Jerome. That's amazing and disconcerting. At the time he wrote American Folksongs of Protest, and for a long time afterwards John Greenway was very much on the left. So he must have covered a lot of ground to have ended up in the Buckley camp. The name William F Buckley rings a few vague bells with me. As I recall, he was an extremely right wing pundit and cheerleader for every reactionary cause imaginable, and way ahead of the curve in terms of Reaganism and Thatcherism. Disconcerting, depressing and downright demoralising.
