Excited to see this thread. I learned this song from my Grandmother, who was born in Texas in, I think, about 1890, she said she learned it from her aunt. Never saw it any place, but the words she taught me match those above, except my grandma sang the first line of the chorus "Sweet Nola Shannon, I know all the Shannons adore."
