I've met Jack Scott a few times as he gigs around the Detroit area quite a lot. pdq, as usual, is full of shit. Jack is a sweetheart of a guy. He is certainly not violent. When he recorded "Leroy" and "The Way I Walk" he was living with his parents. People EXPECTED him to be rough and tough but he is actually rather low-key and quiet. He has a stretch of 9 Mile Road in Highland Park named after him --Jack Scott Blvd.

He was one of the earliest rock artists to write most of his own material and use his actual band in the studio rather than studio musicians. That's the way we generally do things in the Detroit area. We're not LA or New York.
