Alice's version is the correct one. Here in Wexford its pronounced Storeen Bawn, were not very good at the Irish here all us Normans Welsh, and Vikings. We ran the Irish out of here hundreds of years ago.To the best of my knowledge the song was recorded first by a family group from the Kilmore area of Wexford, The Kinsellas, sometime in the 1960s. The song was written by a local man called Keogh, father of the famous hurling star and Guinness rep, of the 50s and 60s Padge Keogh |
