Mr Fox and it's 'history' is all fabricated I'm afraid, invented street theatre. That doesn't mean they're not good performers though.

The mysterious Sheffield-based performers are to be found at http://www.mr-fox.org.uk/, well worth seeing if you get the chance.

I don't think they're the whole story sought by the OP though ...
