Although the Shammick Acoustic events are well worth travelling to, they're not really in the area that MamaVal is looking for. And the local event listings on that website are for North Devon and West Somerset, where as can be seen, there's loads of folkie things going on, both as regular events and one-offs, so you might want to reconsider which bit of Devon to move to, Val! Other than that, the two websites mentioned above are probably the best, plus, if you want to perform yourself, this site is extremely useful, although wider-ranging.
