Wow I remember Slipperalley very well. They ran a folk club, ok it was just them, never any other singers, at the Busman's social club in Macclesfield on Sunday evenings in 1970/71. Every week their repertoire included Paddy Lay Back. Always intoxicated and with the resultant tremendous enthusiasm. The van /truck they came in was amazing.There was a fair number of slogans/ philosophies painted on it. The side windows were whitewashed, so obviously no one could see inside. Engraved upon it were the words to the wise " Dont laugh missis, your daughter's in the back" Loved the story about Stan and the skis Tony Williams
