I'm looking for a song called Living Above My Station - I think this is a music hall song, but it may be burlesque (the American version of music hall, always pronounced by its practitioners 'burleskew' - a friend of mine in the 60s told me of visiting New York from his Hollywood home, and meeting old friends from the great days who would say "Burleskew will be back". All wrong, alas) - anyway, this song concerns a boy of good family who marries a poor girl and they buy or rent a petrol station, and now he is delighted to be "living above my station". A charming song.
