GUEST, Paul Slade First 'Woke Up This Morning' on disc? (1) First 'Woke Up This Morning' on disc? 20 May 13

I've just been listening to Ethel Waters' 1921 recording of Down Home Blues, which includes the following verse:

"Woke up this morning, the day was dawning,
And I was feeling all sad and blue,
Lord, I had nobody to tell my troubles to."

The record industry was still in its infancy in 1921, and this is one of the first records remotely qualifying as blues ever to be released. Is it also the first one to use that future blues cliche "Woke up this morning" in its lyrics? Can anyone beat 1921 with a confirmed sighting?
