The problem with that plan, maeve, is that these other jobs will only be available to me for a short time and have hours that necessitate working one or the other but not both. I could spend the next few weeks or couple of months putting aside savings but might miss the chance totake advantage of these other possibilities.

Of course, one of my longer-term plans is to lay aside savings with an eye towards working for myself within a year's time. That, I know, requires patience, which I am trying my best to have.
