It is an excellent song! Bob Watson lamented the passing of the working shantymen in his song Shantyman - you can find the words on DT and a recording on youtube. New sea songs continue to emerge. The best that I've heard recently was written by Jim Hancock of the English (Yorkshire/Lincolnshire) group The Roaring Forties. It's got a grainy, authentic feel and a refrain; You wouldn't send a dog to sea on a night like this. I can't find it on the internet, but you'll recognise it when you hear it!
