Personally I like Broadstairs and I have no problem with its artist focus ... that's why I go to it. For me festivals are a cost effective way of seeing a number of high profile performers without having to travel to different concert venues, or missing performers because they don't come to my neck of the woods. As for singers festivals, that's great if its what you want .... my experience of them is not good and some of them appalling. Broadstairs is not a suitable venue if you want organised sessions and a big fringe scene. It's evolved into something different and wow it is now bloody expensive but I like it and will go for at least some if not all of it this year.
