Pete use only the floating rapala's. The basses eyes are set way high to look up. they are ambush critters. Big bass are lazy sods. When you float a rapala over them, give it a couple of twitches to look like a crippled minnow. they can't resist. In really warm weather they don't chase much but like to hide and ambush
