khandu BS: Happy birthday Catspaw (50) RE: BS: Happy birthday Catspaw 14 Jul 13

I wanted to wait until all the hoopla died down before I offered my well-developed thoughts on this subject.

If memory serves correctly, which it most certainly does, Spaw had a birthday last year. And the year before. So also did Sheeny Knause, Harry Lee Wigley, Leon Albo and others of their ilk.
So did I and so did most of you.

If things go well, we shall have a birthday next year, and perhaps many more after that.

So...big whoop. I personally wish you all a happy birthday henceforth.

There. I wished it to you all and need not wish it again.

"Oh, how harsh is this Mr. khandu!",some of you are saying.
Nay, not so. Just wise.

If you recall, some 10 years ago, it was I who ushered in a new idea for mudcat. An idea which, with almost 50,000 posts under its belt, has proved itself worthy of conception. I speak, of course, of the Mother of all BS thread, which, to this day, is alive and flourishing, proving that some of my many wonderful ideas carry weight!

Therefore, I, khandu, join my colleague and learned friend, Mr. Joe Offer, in his reasonable view of birthday threads. Mr. Offer, as some of you well know, is no IGMO and deserves the respect of other non-igmoes everywhere. He has often voiced his perceptive perspective of birthday threads, with which I heartily agree.

Mr. Offer himself has lead the pack by example concerning many issues in the past, but he has drawn a definite line concerning these silly threads. He has refused to share his birthdate with his fellow mudcatters in order that there be no "Happy Birthday, Joe Offer!" threads. He deserves our full support in this and, whether you agree or no, you should salute him for his firm stand on his beliefs!

I do. Mr. Joe Offer, I salute ye!

In having made myself quite clear, I conclude this message.

I trust I have persuaded many a wise mudcatter to see the sense in this and I hope that the birthday my fellow asswhole, Spaw, had last month was a grand one and that his next one is better!

And, since I am rarely on line anymore, I wish to take this early opportunity to wish a HAPPYBIRTH MONTH!!! to Mr. Joe Offer (who is no IGMO!)

A happy one to ya, bud!

ken

PS: Since I probably will not be back online for a while, this will have to suffice for the J.O. Happybirthmonth thread.
