Just alerting people of a festival happening in VA Agugust 9-11 that is centered on sustainability, living green and music as a way to connect it all. A strong earth-spiritual focus. Featured bands are Kiva, Magpie and Harpeth Rising, and there is a space for emerging artists as well. Keynote Speaker will be John Michael Greer, author of "The Long Descent" "The Ecotechnic Future" and "Wealth of Nature". It's happening at the Land Celebration, a retreat center with lots of camping and some indoor space. The fee for the weekend $65, there is a meal plan – 6 meals – Friday lunch to Sunday breakfast $60.00 (tentative price, you might want to check for updates on the cost, I have an email into the organizers but have not heard back yet.) Lots more info on the site, and some very imteresting workshops (I'm teaching two!). They are looking for more-- no music workshops listed yet so if you would want to do a song share or anything having to do with music I'm sure it would be of interest, and there is performance space also for "emerging artists"/ additional entertainment. If environmental activism, living green, music with a message, or the like are of interest to you, you may want to check it out. http://www.greensongfestival.org/index.html
