Happy Birthday Willie. You always looked forward with a child-like excitement to this day. It usually brought a group of kinfolk and friends to your backyard for a cook-out, laughter and music.

Thinking on this, I went down to a special place on the big river today
burned some homegrown sage, offered tobacco and a bottle of Chilean wine to the waters. Yes, watered down the wine. My best wishes travel to you on the elements as the sun broke through the moody clouds.
Since the words to 'Son of the Sun' were posted on this thread a few days ago, I'd like to leave it with something you wrote about that particular song.

"Son of the Sun alludes to peace, as well as to frugality. The message is that man's real enemy is largely himself, his conceit as well as his eternal pre-occupation with his ambitions.
It is a song that advocates peace in the world occasionally dominated by the cries of men, women, and children against the brutality and insensitivity of a few who will not cease activities in their silly quest for purlaine.

The world, being the world, usually does not accommodate perfection, and why on earth should it ?
The greater knowledge being, is that we are all children in the light of the greater spirit of earth and sun, and that we can achieve no more than to be worthy of our shadow."
