Tried posting this earlier but made a mess of it. Dervish are playing in Liverpool on Saturday 14th September 2013 at the St. Michaels Irish Centre, 6 Boundary Ln, Everton, Liverpool, Merseyside L6 5JG. Tel: 0151 263 1808. No one who is familiar with this band will need me to tell you how good they are but this is going to be a little bit special: the venue is a small, intimate place that has been promoting, teaching and keeping alive Irish music, culture, language and community spirit since the old Irish Centre in Mount Pleasant closed. This is therefore a unique opportunity to see some of the best Irish traditional music to be heard anywhere in the world in an intimate setting in England's most Irish city. Tickets are a ridiculously cheap £15.00 per head and, remarkably, are still available. That won't be the case for long, though, so if you don't want to miss a truly unique musical occasion my advice would be to get your skates on. The centre's website is at: http://www.stmichaelsirishcentre.org/ and their email is: enquiries@stmichaelsirishcentre.org Address and phone are above. You won't see a band like this in a setting like this for this sort of price anywhere else in the North-West of England this year. Do yourself a favour.
