What Sam Carter actually said was "It sort of doesn't matter that he plays folk music; it transcends that. You play it to people who don't have any history of listening to folk music and they're spellbound by it". So in fact it's not a remark about the quality or otherwise of folk music, but a comment about Nic's ability to communicate and connect musically with people. Those are two very different things.

As to the matter of the iplayer, sadly the BBC doesn't normally seem to put Breakfast Time up on that.
