The next monthly chantey sing aboard the 1886 Glasgow-built square-rigged ship Balclutha, berthed on Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco, is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 8pm to midnight. The sings are on the 1st Saturday night of the month, year-round. Sing chanteys and other seafaring songs on this historic waterfront setting waterfront setting! Free admission, but reservations required. reservations; 415-561-7171. If, though, a partial govt. shutdown occurs if Congress does not pass a continuing resolution for a budget, all U.S. national parks will close to the public until a resolution is agreed to, and if a shutdown goes through October 5, the park will remain closed and this coming chantey sing cancelled, (re-opening when a budget is agreed to). So, I hope to see everyone at the October 5 chantey sing. -Chanteyranger
