Hi Ronald, You are correct as a lot of our Suffolk words originate from North Holland, "waggon" being one of the better known ones. As we are so close to our neighbours the Suffolk peasants that survive still sing the songs that connect us across the cold north sea that we now know was once "land". These days I write the songs for the "Bards of the Heath"but haven't forgotten the unbroken link. The band are getting more and more bookings so we must be doing something right. Have a look at the youtube entries on the Bards page to familiarise yourself with the new line up. Best Wishes John G
