2th Annual Carrying Stream Festival
12th CARRYING STREAM FESTIVAL (6-13th November inclusive)

This is Edinburgh Folk Club's annual tribute to the great Scottish
poet, songwriter, and folklorist.... Hamish Henderson.

Here's a brief outline of our programme which features Martin Simpson –
twice voted Artist of the Year at the BBC Folk Awards (6 Nov), the
legendary Irish singer Len Graham (13 Nov), fiddler Dave Swarbrick of
Fairport Convention fame (8 Nov).

Also featured is Jimmy MacGregor, whose sparkling career as a folk
singer and broadcaster spans more than 50 years – and not everyone can
boast having played a gig with The Beatles as support act!

A feast of traditional singing is in store with Fife singers Chris
Miles, Jimmy Hutchison, Peter Shepherd and Arthur Watson on 9 Nov,
while Margaret Bennett hosts Yorkshire singer Anna Shannon and the
James Brothers (the Scots-Aussie combination Jamie McClennan and James
Fagan).

Sheena Wellington will give the annual Hamish Henderson Lecture in the
City Chambers (9 Nov).
