Van, you've about hit the nail on the head. Ade thingy's appearance on the programme had nothing to do with any authority or expertise he may or probably may not hold on the subject of folk song. It's the old story of celebrity talking heads = viewing figures. Doesn't matter a twopenny damn if said talking head actually contributes anything worth while. Just so long as Joe Public can say "Saw Ade what's his name on telly last night. Said something funny about folk police."
