The hazards of "cheeky rabbits" cannot be discounted, as one of our former US Presidents was in a small boat (fishing?) when a "rabbit assassin" with unknown intent swam toward the boat and had to be intercepted by the US Secret Service agents also in the boat. Once, while driving leisurely across the Maxwell Game Preserve after a pleasant day of fishing, I observed a VERY LARGE Bull Bison showing interest in me. Since I was driving a dark green 1970 VW Beetle, towing a light green 16' boat, he might have mistaken me for a tasty clump of grass, but as he approached he broke into a trot. With the towed load and poor traction on loose gravel, by the time I "matched his speed" the only thing I could see through the side window was his "beard" hanging about five feet away and about a foot above the top of the window. I managed sufficient speed to leave him about 20 feet behind by the time I reached the cattle guard at the gate (about 150 yards from where it all started). I didn't stop to ponder what his real intent was, as anything other than "lunch" suggested really unpleasant prospects. Animals, especially large ones but even bunnies, must be respected when we invade "their space." Sometimes its difficult to predict what will offend (or just interest) one. John
